Work conducted for DONG energy

LAC engineering was engaged by DONG energy to review the load measurements from an offshore wind turbine and to evaluate the quality of the measurement signals. LAC engineering subjected non-calibrated signals to a theoretical calibration. During the work a question from DONG energy aroused on how to determine the aeroelastic modal damping in the 1st tower/pile mode for different vibration directions of the turbine. LAC engineering solved this problem by applying a state-of-the art system identification technique, and this contributed to even more reliable simulation models to predict loading on offshore wind turbines.

”The collaboration with LAC engineering was very successful. Through high level engineering work, LAC and DONG Energy were capable of solving a difficult and very relevant issue within the field of loading on offshore wind turbines.”
