22-10-2012      LAC engineering has joined the Ramboll Group

It is a great pleasure to announce that LAC engineering has joined the Ramboll group with effect from October 1st, 2012. The LAC team will continue its activities under the Ramboll Energy, Wind division supported by synergies and complementary services offered by Ramboll to the on- and offshore wind industry worldwide. United we will pursue further growth in an expanded service offering within R&D, design and O&M activities as supplement to the current worldwide and successful Ramboll wind services.

The LAC team will relocate to Ramboll Aarhus facilities October 24th.

The local Danish country administration office has awarded LAC engineering the distinction of “Entrepreneur of the year” in the category “Enterprise Awards”. This represents yet further acknowledgement of LAC engineer’s healthy evolution as a company, and we are proud to have received it.

EWEA 2012 exhibition in Copenhagen has brought very positive results for LAC engineering. First of all, we are happy to say that the public has shown great interest in LACflex, our already mature and widely-used aeroelastic simulation software. Furthermore, we have had numerous interesting meetings with both new and existing business partners, and we are excited to see the discussions we had develop into new and challenging projects. LAC engineering is proud to announce the launch of version 1.2 of LACFlex, the aeroelastic simulation software that our devoted engineers and programmers have been working on and using for the past 3 years. Knowledge and experience in one package, LACFlex has now reached a fully functional and highly reliable stage. We would like to use this occasion to thank all our collaborators who have helped in the process.
Having reached the first official release of LACFlex does not mean that development is put on hold. LAC will continue to make the improvements, know-how integration, add-ons and updates that our customers have come to expect.

LAC engineering has been present last week at EWEA Wind Energy 2011 in Bruxelles, Belgium, one of the largest exhibitions for wind industry players worldwide.
It has been a great opportunity for us both to enhance our network and to discuss potential business opportunities with numerous companies. 25-01-2011      Internationalization efforts - EU Gateway

EU Gateway is a European program with the main purpose of strengthening business relations between Europe and Asian countries. Following a screening and selection process, LAC engineering been chosen as one of the 30 European companies to participate in the European business mission to Seoul, South Korea, between 6-10 June. Last Friday, 18th March, Sebastian Catana has been taking place in a pre-departure informational and training meeting with EU Gateway representative and coordinators.

This comes as a result of our efforts to internationalize. We believe that the Korean market has a great potential which needs to be harvested, housing some of the largest companies in the world who announce entering the wind industry, and adopting very ambitious renewable energy policies with a strong emphasis on offshore wind.

29-12-2010      New LAC employee.

Due to continued successful market penetration and intense activity, Jason Felix Boileau will join our team of highly motivated and skilled engineers on February 1st. Jason has been working with LAC engineering for the last 2 years assisting the team with development and maintenance of LACFlex and in his new position he will have primary focus on the continued development of LACFlex as well as managing user support. Jason will finalize his B.Sc. in mechanical engineering in January.

 
15-09-2010      New employee: Sebastian Catana

Further evolution and growth of the team in LAC Engineering welcomes one more employee to boost administrative efficiency. Sebastian Catana, a graduate of Aarhus School of Business and Social Sciences joins the company on the 15th September.

With a MSc in International Business, Sebastian thrives with enthusiasm in his new job at LAC Engineering, dealing with administration and marketing-related tasks, pursuing his goal of engaging in strategical and tactical internationalization business issues.

19-04-2010      Jesper marks beginning of company growth

LAC Engineering has started its activity by riding a warm breeze, which has now turned into a full-grown storm. Operations and implicitly workload have gone up in the last period for the company, marking an expected and irrefutable growth. In consequence, LAC Engineering ownership felt the need to enlarge the team and bring fresh working power and innovative thinking to the company.

Jesper Bønding is a graduate of Aalborg University, being awarded with a diploma for MSc in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Control and Autonomous Systems. A first priority for LAC, cutomer project fulfillment, is what brought this dedicated engineer to the team in August this year.

19-03-2010      SYSWIND project

June 1st 2010 Miss Nevena Perisic will start at LAC engineering as PhD student, as LAC engineering has been chosen as full partner in the SYSWIND project under the European Commission 7th framework program.

Nevena holds a M.Sc. in electrical engineering from the University of Belgrade and will bring a significant theoretical capacity to the project which holds the title ‘Recursive operational modal analysis of wind turbines for structural health monitoring’.

 
07-01-2010      LAC engineering welcomes Jonas Nissen to the LAC t...

Jonas holds a M.Sc. Civil Engineering from Aalborg University with Master thesis title ‘Estimation of extreme response and failure probabilities of wind turbines in normal operation by controlled Monte Carlo simulation’.  At LAC engineering, Jonas will primarily be working with customer projects in the areas of wind turbine aeroelastic simulations and performance analysis, as well as he will be contributing to internal R&D activities.

 
07-01-2010      LAC welcomes Jacob Deleuran Grunnet to the team

As a natural consequence of a very positive order situation and LAC engineering’s dedication to become a significant supplier of high-end services within Loads, Aerodynamics and Control of wind turbines, it is a pleasure to announce that M.Sc. and PhD in electrical engineering, Jacob Deleuran Grunnet will join our team May 1st 2010.

Jacob has strong competencies within control systems with past experience from spacecraft and wind turbine technology. Jacob will primary be working with development of advanced turbine control.

 
30-10-2009      China Wind Power 2009

LAC engineering’s Director of Operations, Anders Steen Nielsen, was in Beijing from October 19th – 23rd to attend China Wind Power 2009.

Before visiting the exhibition, Anders attended a conference arranged by the Chinese Wind Energy Association in Beijing. At this conference, Anders successfully presented LAC engineering’s software program LACflex. Following, he participated in several client meetings at the China Wind Energy exhibition.

Anders experienced great interest for LAC engineering’s services within aeroelastic simulation, control development and the LACflex software. The Chinese wind turbine industry is a market with great potential, and we are pleased to have acquired interesting projects, which we now continue to work on.

As part of the Marie Curie grant, which LAC engineering received earlier this year (see news from 22-06-2009), we are now looking for a competent MSc to conduct the PhD research SYSWIND within aeroelastic analysis of wind turbines.

From July 8th to July 10th LAC engineering participated in Wind Power Asia, Asia’s largest wind power exhibition as a part of the Danish Pavilion.
Exhibitioners as well as visitors were very positive, and we experienced positive demand for our competencies and services through dialogue with new clients as well as new networking relations. We will now process and follow up on the interesting contacts we have established during the fair.
 
22-06-2009      LAC conducts PhD research

LAC engineering has by the EU been granted funding for conducting a PhD research project within the field of system identification of wind turbines. The project is part of the seventh framework programme (FP-7) and has partners from a number of different European countries, such as Ireland, Holland, Greece, the United Kingdom and Italy.

I see many possible applications for system identification techniques within the field of load and performance analysis of wind turbines.”

LAC engineering turns 1 year the 1st of May!

We have experienced great demand on our engineering consultancy competences in the field of Loads, Aerodynamics and Control. This has allowed our company to increase its staff from 3 engineers to 6 engineers and a communication officer in the first year.

LAC engineering has moreover obtained press coverage by e.g. the Danish business newspaper Børsen in March 2009 and was nominated as “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Favrskov Municipality. 

Despite the financial crisis, our services experience great demand and many new exciting projects are on their way. This is a desired position, which we will use to further develop LAC engineering as a company through dedicated professionalism and focus on our clients.

We would like to thank our present clients, business partners and network for the support in our first year, and we hope to continue the successful cooperation.

From March 16th to March 19th LAC engineering’s managing director Niels Fiil Broennum visited the EWEC exhibition, Europe's premier energy event in Marseille. 

Exhibitioners as well as visitors were very positive and optimistic and, despite the fact that many were busy, Niels encountered high meeting activity with potential clients. Niels engaged in dialogue with new clients as well as new networking relations and he returned to Denmark with firm orders.

New managing partner in LAC engineering. Anders Steen Nielsen has entered as partner i LAC engineering by november 1st 2008. Anders is Ph.D. in mechanical engineering
and has been working in Vestas for 8 years with loadcalculations and aeroelastic code development. Anders will be responsible for operations inlcuding development of the LAC engineering aeroelastic code LACflex and other tools supporting LAC engineering services.

Sune Baun Christensen enters LAC engineering by october 1st 2008.

Sune is control engineer (M.Sc.Elec.) from Aalborg University and has been working at Vestas' LAC department as industrial PhD and development engineer since 2004.

Sune's primary work areas in LAC engineering will be control development using classic and modern control methodologies with focus on production control, supervisory control and load reducing control schemes. He will use and develop LACflex as an integrated control tuning tool and will assist in load calculations and load analyses.

Sune will also act as project manager on costumer projects and attend research and technology projects with our university and industry partners.

We are confident that Sune's competences make LAC engineering even more competive in load calculations and control development.
